DETAILED ITINERARY

Trip Highlights

Day 1- Depart U.S. / Arrive San José or Liberia, Costa Rica
Upon arrival in Juan Santamaria International in San José or Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, you will be met by your guide outside the customs and immigration area at the airport. Early arrival required since it is a 3-hour drive to La Fortuna area. Your guide will transfer you to the hotel for a welcome dinner and trip orientation.

Day 2- Arenal National Park
Today enjoy a rush of adrenaline at the Sky Tram & Trek. On this tree top walk, you cross a series of suspension bridges, walking above the tree canopy and looking down on the enormous ferns and majestic trees that comprise the dense vegetation of this primary rainforest. A network of suspended bridges, platforms, and paths permit observation of flora and fauna from ground level all the way to the tree tops.  Afterwards, enjoy a free afternoon on your own to explore the local surroundings.

Day 3- Playa Hermosa
Drive to the province of Guanacaste, on the Pacific Coast, stopping close to Cañas for a floating trip on the Corobici River.  The Corobici River gets its water from hydroelectric and irrigation releases from Lake Arenal, making this river one of the cleanest and freshest in the country. The Corobicí River flows from Lake Arenal, at the base of the active Arenal Volcano, westward into the Pacific Lowlands and Ocean. A float down the Corobicí River is a unique opportunity for nature lovers - especially bird watchers - as it passes near Palo Verde National Park, home to many different species of birds, iguanas, and noisy howler monkeys that can be seen along the banks of the river.

Day 4- Playa Hermosa
During the morning, enjoy a half-day snorkeling & beach hopping boat trip. Free afternoon to relax at your Villa and enjoy the area.

Day 5- Playa Hermosa
Today head Escuela Altos del Roble in Carrillo, Guanacaste. The school has two teachers who have set up many different projects such as tree planting, learning folkloric dances, Marimba lessons, recycle book-marks project and much more. This is a good moment to try your Spanish, share your English and get heart & hands-on with their endeavors. Lunch will be included at a local favorite restaurant.

Days 6-7- Playa Hermosa
Free days to relax at your villa, visit nearby beaches, go sightseeing with your guide and driver or take optional tours (Diving, snorkeling, sailing, horseback riding, canopy tours, wildlife viewing in Palo Verde, Surfing lessons in Tamarindo, and much more). We an also help you arrange a list of services right at your Villa, from Yoga classes and salsa lessons to Spa Treatments.

Day 8- Liberia / Depart
Early morning transfer to the Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia for your international flight.
