Day 1- Depart U.S. / Arrive San José, Costa Rica
Upon arrival in Juan Santamaria International Airport in San José, you will be met by your guide outside the customs and immigration area at the airport. Your guide will transfer you to the hotel where you will enjoy a welcome dinner and trip orientation.

Days 2-3- Macizo Cerro de la Muerte
After a hearty breakfast and trip briefing by your guide, the journey begins  Today hike to Botos Lagoon in Poás Volcano National Park which is home to the Poás Volcano, one of the world's largest geysers with an awesome crater over 1.5 km. wide. Afterwards, you will head to the Waterfall Garden for lunch followed by an afternoon hike and a visit to their well known butterfly and hummingbird gallery.

Days 4-6 -Pacific Coast
Early wake-up and depart for the Mid Pacific Coast. We will stop at a local restaurant for authentic Costa Rican lunch before heading to the hotel. More than 400 species of birds await you at the Hotel Villa Lapas.  From scarlet macaws to the Black-hooded Antshrike (and everything in between), Villa Lapas is a worldwide recognized destination for bird watching fans and nature lovers alike.

Days 7-8- Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve
Early morning drive to Monteverde, where you will visit the Ecological Farm. Here you will find more than 100 species of mammals including 5 species of cats, over 400 species of birds including 30 kinds of hummingbirds, tens of thousands of insect species and 2,500 species of plants. In addition to the spectacular Resplendent Quetzal, you may encounter the endangered Bellbird, or Emerald Toucan.

Day 9- La Fortuna
Today you will head north to Arenal stopping en route for lunch. You will enjoy the Arenal Hanging Bridge, which is the best suspension system in Costa Rica for getting up high in the forest canopy to see birds in the treetops. The Arenal Hanging Bridges is one the most beautiful environmental friendly projects in Costa Rica. Located in front of the ArenalVolcano, within the corridor followed by birds migrating between North and South America, the trails and bridges of this project will bring you as close as you could ever hope to get to the birds, the flowers and the lush vegetation of the primary rainforest. Walk right into the forest, thanks to the imposing hanging bridges overlooking the canopy and our easy, safe and beautiful trails with views of the Volcano.

Days 10-12 - Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve

Early today you will take a morning drive to Monteverde. After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, experience the Sky Trek, a system of trails, suspension bridges, and zip lines that offer the opportunities to observe and appreciate tropical vegetation above the canopy.

Day 13 - Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve / San José
Drive to the Waterfall Gardens, stopping en route to Virgen del Socorro. The Waterfall
Garden presents the largest enclosed Butterfly Observatory in the world covering 18,000
square feet and towering 50 feet in height. Our collection includes ten species of the most
colorful butterflies found in Costa Rica. In our Hummingbird Garden
our feathered friends will delight and fascinate you with their antics as they play and fight with each other at amazing speeds. These special creatures have become so tame they will approach and feed within a few feet of you. This afternoon drive back to San Jose. Tonight enjoy your farewell dinner.

Day 14- San José / Depart
Early morning transfer to the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose for your international flight home.
